Sequel to I Am Legend Confirmed with Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan Returning

Smith plays the role of Robert Neville, the lone immune survivor in a dystopian New York City.nnSpeaking at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia, Smith revealed that he had recently spoken with Jordan about the sequel and that the script has just been completed. While Smith's character dies at the end of the original film, there is an alternate ending featured in the DVD extras that shows Neville surviving and continuing his story in a different world.

nnDirector Francis Lawrence, who helmed the original film, is also set to return for the sequel. I Am Legend was a box office success, grossing $585 million worldwide, including $256 million in the US. Lawrence, who recently promoted the upcoming Hunger Games prequel, has confirmed that I Am Legend 2 is among several projects he has in the works, along with Constantine 2 and an adaptation of Stephen King's The Long Walk.
