Back to the Future Part II, the sequel to the 1985 classic film, was released in 1989. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the film stars Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, and Billy Zane reprising their roles from the first film.

The story follows Marty McFly and Dr. Emmett Brown as they travel to the year 2015 to save Marty's future children, only to have their time machine stolen, leading to a series of problems.nnThe film ends on a cliffhanger as the time machine, with Dr.

Brown inside, is struck by lightning and disappears. Marty receives a letter revealing that Dr. Brown has traveled back to the year 1885, setting the stage for the third and final installment of the trilogy, Back to the Future Part III.

nnReception for the film was mixed, with critics giving it a 62% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, audiences were more impressed, giving it a 7.8/10 on IMDb.
